Power Plants Located in the Earth's Sun Belt.

The sun's energy potential is almost unlimited. 1,080,000,000 terawatt hours of power arrive on the earth from the sun each year - 60,000 times the world's electricity requirements. Of all the forms of renewable energy, solar energy thus has the greatest potential. Its distinct advantage is that the sun is available on site so that, apart from the construction of the power plants and the transporting of the electricity, no infrastructure or logistics are required. This is certainly not the case with the extraction and utilization of fossil fuel supplies.

The best location for solar thermal power plants is the Earth's Sun Belt because this is where the sun shines most frequently, and also because the sun's radiation is most intense there. The Sun Belt is located roughly between the 40th parallels north and south, i.e. between southern Spain and South Africa, for example.
