Blythe: The world’s largest solar power plant
Of all the advanced projects the subsidiary Solar Trust of America is pursuing in the United States at various locations, the focus is currently on the site of Blythe in Riverside County. Up to four solar power plants will be realized there with a total capacity of 1,000 MW. The planned plants are currently the largest location for solar power plants in the world and one of the most important infrastructure projects in the United States.
In August 2011, Solar Millennium decided to convert the first 500 MW phase of the Blythe Solar Power Project to photovoltaic (PV) technology. Here you find the press release.
