Erlangen, 28.08.2008. Solar Millennium AG (ISIN 0007218406) is to be included in the ecologically ethical Natur-Aktien-Index (NAI - Nature Stock Index) on September 1, 2008. The NAI committee which is responsible for compiling the list for the Index, made its decision known on Thursday.
According to the NAI in its press release, Solar Millennium fulfils the necessary NAI criteria that represent a standard for ecological investments. "With the admission of Solar Millennium, the NAI is pointing the way to a forward-looking development of renewable energy sources. We see solar-thermal power plants as important contributors to sustainable energy production", said Dr. Horst Hamm, on announcing the NAI committee's decision.
The Natur-Aktien-Index (NAI) comprises 30 companies from various sectors and countries, which are chosen based on strict ecological and ethical criteria and are considered to be of long-term benefit. The price index was founded in 1997 to demonstrate that ecologically managed companies can also have an advantage over conventional companies on the stock exchange. It has developed extraordinarily well and has risen by 420% since its inception. The index values are chosen and tested by the independent NAI committee according to obligatory criteria. The committee is made up of experts from the Wuppertal Institute, Südwind, Germanwatch, Katalyse Institute and nature+kosmos. The NAI committee works together with imug Investment Research in Hannover. Securvita is the index provider, a financial service provider based in Hamburg. The NAI rate is calculated by the vwd group (the European service provider of financial information) and is posted on its website www.nai-index.de.
