Solar thermal plants such as parabolic trough power plants need direct solar radiation to operate. Since the radiation is almost directly proportionate to the amount of power generated by a power plant, knowledge of the local area's solar radiation is essential for developing and planning power plants. However, to date, reliable data on direct radiation around the world has either been unavailable or hard to come by. As such, qualified measurements must be made at every potential location.
Solar Millennium AG has its own technology for taking precise measurements and evaluating solar radiation data at any location around the world. In order to assess the operating efficiency of a location, our meteostations record highly precise chronological data on radiation over a period of at least one year: Relient. Remote. Accurate.
We offer alternative meteostations for the operation
of power plants.
