Precise measurements of direct solar radiation play an important role for a solar power plant, and not just in the selection of the site. A permanent flow of information on the direct radiation during the operation of solar-thermal power plants and concentrating photovoltaic plants is also required. Taking these measurements as a basis, the efficiency of the plant is monitored on the one hand, while the operating strategy is optimized on the other.

Given the entirely different requirements during the operation of power plants than the measurements needed in the early project stages, Solar Millennium offers custom-made solutions specifically for this intended use. Depending on the customer specifications, different measuring technologies are used. Most call for measuring stations with solar trackers, pyrheliometers and pyranometers.
