Content: The Swiss private banking institution Sarasin has been carrying out an annual analysis of the entire solar market since 2002, which contains a prognoses for the growth of solar thermal power plant capacity. The 2006 study analyzes the market for photovoltaic, solar heat, and solar thermal power plants. Based on the projects planned during the period analyzed, Sarasin considers the implementation of solar thermal power plant with a total capacity of 2100 MW to be possible by 2010. "The moment of truth" has come for solar thermal power plants and they "now seem to be entering a decisive phase", according to Sarasin.
